So yesterday was Valentine’s Day or as most people like to call it Tuesday. Because yesterday was all about Love it reminded me of one of my favorite traditions in Europe where a couple will take a lock, write their name on it, lock it to a bridge, and throw the key in the river. The way I interpret this is it symbolizes that they will be together forever. Super Sweet! I found these little symbols all over Europe. I think I first fell in love with them in Paris on a bridge near the Louvre. It made me wish I was in Paris with that special someone so we too could take a lock, write our initials on it, and throw away the key locked together for all eternity (or until the city decided to come cut our lock off with a bolt cutter because the locks are becoming overwhelming). In Florence I found these locks everywhere not just on bridges. If there was a place near the river to place the lock there would be a group clustered together.
Here’s a link to Garance Dore
speaking about the Locks. Hope you enjoy!
Every city has a sex and an age which have nothing to do with demography. Rome is feminine. So is Odessa. London is a teenager, an urchin, and this hasn’t changed since the time of Dickens. Paris, I believe, is a man in his twenties in love with an older woman.
Capri is Capri, nothing more to say… It is a piece of Paradise on Earth. The sun, the fragrance of the Sea, the food, the people. Walking in the narrow streets in a full moon summer night let you wish you will stay there forever. ~Max B~
I just think this video is AMAZING! Makes me want to pack a bag and travel across the globe right now discovering new things.
Traveling is not just seeing the new; it is also leaving behind. Not just opening the doors; also closing them behind you, never to return. But the place you have left forever is always there for you to see whenever you shut your eyes.
So this is my friend KK (She is who I am going visit in Dallas). She made me laugh last night by sending me a list of things we are going to do while I am in Dallas. I’m pretty sure the two of us need our own reality TV show. It could be the adventures of Brei and KK. I think people would tune in just to see what sort of trouble we get into.
The show could be a little about cooking, well eating to be exact. (Her grandpa is Tony Chachere). A lot about traveling and football. Throw some fashion in there and we are all set. I am sure KK would make sure everyone was exposed to a little cajun music as well!
Maybe I’ll get this little reality show of the ground this weekend.
I thought I would start a my favorite things post. I loved Emily’s from Cupcakes and Cashmere so much that I am going to do my take on the subject. Hope you enjoy!
I love fun photo booth pictures. These were taken over my last trip to New York with one of my best friends. Love when bars and weddings have photo booths. Have to say some of my favorite memories with friends have been captured by a photo booth!
I love the Rocker edge these Christian Louboutin’s have! No I don’t own these myself but they are on my wish list.
This truck is on my ultimate wish list! Love the Range Rover Defender.
Capri, Italy! One of the most magical places I have ever been.
The Rodin statue garden in Paris.
I just wanted to share a few sights from my weekend trip to New Orleans. it never ceases to amaze me the wonderful colors and sights that I see in this wonderful city. If you could only hear the sounds coming out of these great musicians on the street. If you ever get a chance visit and soak up the gumbo that is New Orleans.
Sorry for the bad blurry photos I just wanted to show you guys all the snow. I’m here in Wichita, Kansas for work.
I’m not used to all this snow! When landing at the airport yesterday I was quite amazed at the ability of the crew to land!
At least we just have to walk across the street for the conference. I think the snow is over for now. Have to say I’m not a fan.
