Midnight City

I stumbled upon this song the other day and haven’t been able to get it out of my head since. For now turn up the volume and enjoy!

My new song obsession

Love this song from Zac Brown Band. I know it’s sad but I just can’t get it out of my head.

Music Obsession of the week

If you haven’t guessed by now I heart Better Than Ezra. So in honor of their concert on Sat. I picked one of my favorite songs. Porcelain just brings back so many memories.

A great story in my old college news paper about one of my, if not my favorite band on the planet! If you haven’t already purchased tickets to one od their shows you should! It is always an amazing time.

Music Obsession of the Week

I have to say I am obsessed with Adele right now. There is just something about this song that is so catchy. Sort of reminds me of a Nina Simone song.

You had my heart inside of your hands,

But you played it,
You played it,
You played it,
You played it to the beat.

Almost Lover….

“Should’ve known you’d bring me heartache…

….So you’re gone and i’m haunted

And i bet you are just fine

Did i make it that easy to walk

Right in and out of my life?…”

Almost Lover
A Fine Frenzy

I just wanted to share a few sights from my weekend trip to New Orleans. it never ceases to amaze me the wonderful colors and sights that I see in this wonderful city. If you could only hear the sounds coming out of these great musicians on the street. If you ever get a chance visit and soak up the gumbo that is New Orleans.

Music Venues

I recently saw JJ Grey and Mofro at the Varsity in Baton Rouge and will see the Randy Rogers band there this coming Sat. I forget how much I love watching music in a small venue.
You can really relate to the musician. I saw Sara Bareilles at the House of Blues Houston a few months ago. Loved her so much. You could see her personality shine thru. I felt like I was watching one of my best friends perform and not a professional.
Maybe that is why I love Better Than Ezra so much. I’ve always watched them in a small venue. They can easily joke with the crowd, change up a song or set list to fit the crowds mood. I guess I’m saying small venues make me happy and I wish I could see all of my favorites in one.

Do you have a favorite band you’ve seen in a small venue?

So I will start off by saying I used to be a fairly skinny girl growing up. I never had any problems with my weight. Well I hit 26 or 27 and started gaining weight rapidly. By no means am I obese but I have gone from a 4 to a 14. It’s hard for me mentally being a big girl now. You can’t dress the same way and it just makes you want to shrink into yourself. Anyway, this is not what this post is about.
This post is about motivation. I have started running of late. I’ve never been a huge exercise junky. In fact I hate it! So I am looking for motivation to get up in the morning to run. I’ve got to do it in the morning because I am working two jobs and well we all know if you wait till the evening it will never happen!
I’ve decided to make a couple of goals for myself in the form of races. The Crescent City Classic is at the end of April and it is a little over 6 miles and Bay 2 Breakers in San Fran. is in May and it is a little over 7 miles. I figure it will kill two birds with one stone. Lose weight and have a sense of accomplishment.
So I need a little help from you guys. What do you do for motivation? Are there songs that make you happy when you run? How do you make yourself get up in the morning to work out?

JJ GREY & Mofro

Going see JJ Grey and Mofro tonight at the Varsity! Love this guys voice! If you haven’t heard him go listen to “The Sun is Shining Down”.
